Mobility

Having previously worked for many years as a physiotherapist, Maria has paid careful attention to making the apartment as accessible as possible.

As a ground floor apartment, we are have the advantage of being accessible to the less able bodied. The parking space is immediately outside the apartment, where there is a gravel drive. There are 3 steps up to the front door, which is extra wide at 110cm. There is a grab rail to the left hand side of the front door.

Once inside the front door, there is a vestibule with a door into the apartment. Once you are in the vestibule, there is level access through out.

All doors are a standard 75cm wide. The hall corridor is 110cm wide. 

The master bedroom with king sized bed is 60cm in height.

The twin / zip link superking bed is 68cm high. 

There are grab rails inside both showers, also on the wall beside the bath and into the en suite bathroom. There are non-slip mats provided for both showers and the bath. Taps in the bathroom are an easy to use lever style. 

Please take care in the en suite bathroom as when the floor gets wet it may become slippery.

Two sets of chunky handled cutlery is supplied along with the standard cutlery.

Hearing

The TV has subtitles as a option.

Visual

There is high contrast between the doors and walls.

All bedside lights are touch lights, making it easier to turn on without fiddly switches. In the hall and the living room, there are nightlights  / emergency torch which automatically comes on in the dark when detecting movement, or in the event of a power cut. There is also a dimmer switch to operate the hall light to enable it to stay on overnight without being overly bright.
